Getting Conceptual w/ Dick Jones (class)

“Your body has a story to tell. Let’s find what it has to say! Over the years, the artform of burlesque has branched off to include many types of performance Art, and all are equally valid. This class will focus specifically on harnessing the avant garde through the lens of burlesque. Let’s let our freak flags fly!
Join award nominated nightlife entertainer, Dick Jones, for a 4-week intensive act development series, in which you will create a piece of personal performance Art alongside a group of your peers. This will be a low pressure, creative setting in which we will collaborate to develop the skills to bring a burlesque act from conception to conclusion. The main focus will be on message, movement, and harnessing our bodies to tell a story.
The class will culminate in a ticketed Student Showcase meant to celebrate our vision and to give a live, loving audience a chance to celebrate our creations!”
